Both Peltor and Howard Leight as companies have not too many rivals when it comes to ear protection. With many years of delivering quality products to avid shooters everywhere, they are the ones that are best suited to produce cheap but high quality electronic ear muffs. Both the Howard Leight Impact Sports ear protectors and the Peltor 6S Tactical look very similar when placed side by side, but if you look a little bit closer you will start to see differences between the two. So what one is best?
Starting with how well they function, on paper the Howard Leight has the Peltor beat when it comes to reducing noise. With a noise reduction rating of 22 and able to block out sounds that are over 84 dB, the Sports Impact earmuff trumps the Peltor’s 20 NRR.
